Mixed anemone tank w/ clown harem

I prefer new anemone to attach to a coffee mug more than anything. I can lay the mug on it side and use the handle to trap the anemone and keep him from flowing around until he is attach to the mug. Then I invert the cup so the bottom point up. almost all the anemone will craw to the top of the mug. This keep them away from other animals and elevate them so that they get better current. I can move the mug around in the tank or move to hospital tank without have to detach the anemone.
When the time come I just lean the mug against the rock and the anemone will just craw off and attach himself to the rock where I want him to be.
The mug is inert and will not cause problem in hospital tank. I cannot think of anything else I rather have a new anemone attach to when I am trying to get him settle to a new tank.

It was a part of @OrionN protocol, and it serves two purpose, for the anemone to attach on, and makes it easier for transfer anemone to main display or quarantine tank after treatment

What a great idea for an anemone needing to be moved around.

This is one of my favorite tanks. Are there any updates?

Sprungson: care to share your lighting specs on that tank ?

Didn't see all these messages. Sad news for you all.

I did have an infection in my tank Around October. I lost all my magnificas. I also lost a red and blue haddoni. Lessons learned not to add anemones so fast like you all said. One of the gigs bleached but it recoverd on its own. One haddoni got sick but has recoverd on its own. The mertensii was not impacted at all.

I believe the infection came from two gigs that I treated and added to my tank after 7 days. They didnt make it and got other nems sick.

My clowns are all there except for one. They all seem to pair up now except for one.

I just bought a waterbox Reef LX 270 gallon and will be upgrading when it comes in

Here's some pics of my tank right now.

Aww, so sorry to hear the update. You've still got some amazing haddoni's left though!

Thought I would share an update on my mixed anemone, clown harem tank. Red Sea Reefer 250 up and running 15 months, clown added 2-3 months (lost a few from jumping)

- 4 magnificas
- 4 giganteas
- 3 haddonis
- 3 btas
- 1 LTA
- 1 mini maxi
- 1 pair of occellarius
- 1 solo large saddleback
- batch of 7 occearius from a different hatch
- 1 mocha storm from a different hatch
- I have MP10, with nem protect, and MP40 sleeves as an extra precaution.

I don't really have an aggression probably so far, and I think it's because of so many HOST Anemones. But it's only 2-3 MOS and I'll keep folks updated.

Special thanks for all the education and help from @D-Nak @OrionN @chizerbunoi @Nemguy123 . Learn a lot from you all and thanks Minh for pioneering the Cipro treatment. Saved my mag.

This is absolutely amazing

Alright. Since I lost all my mags I'm trying one more time. This time I will not add more than one mag in this system and I will treat for 10 days. Hopefully those two corrections will produce one successful mag in this new tank. Then I am pretty much done with this tank. My new 270 gallon should be coming next month. :).

Here's a pic of my hospital tank with first day of treatment and my display tank with a perfect spot on the left.

Did you ever have issues with LTA and haddoni? Mine always got stung, cornered and the. Had no room to escape which made them go downhill.
