Adding a variety of SPS and LPS to my nano. I do weekly or biweekly 20% water changes. As I start loading my tank, I'm looking to start dosing kalk with topoff water. I've got a pH controller and will start testing. Question...what should I start measuring other than pH? Do i just start with alk and maintain that at 7 to 10? And then assume calcium will adjust itself?
Fyi...I use instant ocean salt

Anything you dose, I would test for it. I would test for pH, alkalinity, calcium and magnesium, nitrates and phosphates. Also, you shouldn’t assume anything in the marine hobby because you can get in trouble doing that along with cutting corners or doing things too fast!
One last thing, being that you have a nano tank, be careful with dosing etc. as you have little time to react and water parameter issues can creep up on you in no time due to the small amount of water volume.

PH is 7.9, calcium is approx. 500. Haven't measured alk yet. I know one should never assume, but based on your own experience, does it mean that my alk may be low as result?
