I figured since I am really warming up to these forums it was time I started a build thread to document my progress. I've been adding a lot of frags over the last few months, and would like to have a place to post monthly or bi-monthly pics so that I can watch my reef developing :)

So here is my FTS as of this morning for May 2013:

The FTS was taken in the morning so full spectrum lights were not on yet, just the super blues, actinics and fiji purple.

I'll be posting a few close-ups of some of my SPS frags for comparison with later growth. :biggrin1:

A little info about the tank:
Size-120g
Lighting- 8 x 54w T5 HO light fixture running KZ super blues, KZ fiji purple, KZ New Generation 14K, and actinics
Skimmer- Currently a HOB AquaC Remora Pro while I'm working on the plumbing for my overflows... soon will have something in-sump
Flow- 2 x Koralia 1400's, 2 smaller Koralias (1 & 3)
Additional Equiptment/dosing: Running PhosZorb in a HOB filter for now (soon to be in sump); dose ESV 2-part Calcium and Alk additives as needed

So far I only have a before/after pic of one of my frags: the pink birdsnest I acquired in late February. Here's a pic from March 2013 when it was just starting to show growth tips (sorry its blurry):

And a pic now, May 2013:

Not too shabby for 2 months I'd say! :)

Great setup! Besides going after inverts, does your clown trigger go after corals too?

Not yet, so far he just eats/tortures all my snails... they keep laying eggs though so he hasn't been able to finish off the entire CUC.

The plan is to get a second smaller tank when he gets bigger and move all the corals over there, so that he can have the whole 120 to himself... I'll probably be motivated to go ahead with that whenever he does in fact start eating everything haha

They won't always eat coral...
I had a baby clown trigger in my 40, he was only an 1 1/2 in long.
Everyone said he was going to chew on everything but didn't touch a coral.
He got big fast and was about 4 or 5 inches when I pulled him out and sold him
( sold him bc at the time I didn't have a bigger tank for him...)

That's really great growth for 2 months on that BN

Thanks all, and that's good to know Mrfresh... I've only had him 7 months but he has grown quite a bit in that time... small wonder since he eats better than I do what with all the shrimp, tilapia, etc I buy for him lol

Also, forgot that I do actually have one more before/after: my sunset monti. I took the original photo only 1 month ago on April 3 because I had noticed the monti had started bleaching in the middle (I had it placed very high in the tank). I moved it down to the sandbed, and the growth has since taken off and it has almost recovered fully from the bleaching.

Before in April 2013 (again sorry for blurriness, I'm working with an iPhone here lol):

And today May 2013, only a trace of bleaching is still noticeable in the middle there, and it has expanded quite a bit:
