Just curious as to how many mixed reefs out there. been in the hobie for over a year now and everyone is telling me to go full sps instead of staying mixed due to the difficulty of pleasing all the corals in a mixed tank.at the moment mine is more sps dominated.

welcome to r2r!I would say do what pleases you the most. What do you enjoy the most? For me I started out with softies and graduated to sps and lps keeping one or two softies I really liked. It's all personal preference imo.

Yup my vote is mixed tho at 7 votes, everyone has said mixed so far!

Think you can keep mixed coral happy with smart placement in the tank. And if your parameters can satisfy sps dominant, than it should be no prob for mixed. Plus I think, total preference here, that mixed looks better bc you have more variety. And with some lps and softies, you get more movement in your tank which visitors seem to like.

I agree I've had a mixed tank the whole time for the most part but just happened to some how shift to more of a sps .After I put my first acro in and it was doing good I may or may not have become addicted to them lol.
