Hi everyone,

I have one pair of black and white clowns approximately 2 1/2 inches long in my 125 gallon tank. They are a mated pair. I am taking down my 55 gallon but I have a much smaller pair of clowns that are orange, black and white. Does anyone see any issues adding the smaller pair into the 125 gallon? The black and white clowns can be a bit territorial if any of my fish go in their corner but nothing extreme.
Thanks for any and all replies.

I have had 2 pairs in a 40 breeder before. Is there a lot of hiding places? The female of the larger pair may not be accepting. Do you have something like a breeding net, mushroom box, etc.? You could try to introduce the smaller pair to your 125 in this fashion.

Curious myself, I have a 150 I'm setting up and I wouldn't mind another pair but I don't want aggression

The main thing I did in the 40 breeder I had was change up the rock scape so there was no territory to defend and everyone was focused on finding their happy place. I also fed a little heavy right after I introduced the 2nd pair to negate any aggression as well.

Quick question: mine are being hosted by a BTA and don't travel far from the nem, I have another nem in the tank and am hoping the new pair will be hosted, think this is a possible outlet to deter aggression?

Are the nems close together? If the current pair pretty much stays close to their nem, then introduce the smaller pair as far away from it as possible when you put them in your tank, and pay close attention to both pairs for a little while to for signs of aggression.

The nems are on opposite sides of the tank.

The best advise I can give you is that clownfish will do the opposite of what you want them to do lol. Personally I would go for it, but plan on catching them. Hope for the best and plan for the worst.

I will keep that in mind! Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the help. I'm going to stew on this a bit more before making the decision. I would really hate to see any aggression from my big female. She's been pretty mellow since we bought them.
