I'm about 2 weeks in on copper treatment using Copper Power. Also, just completed using General Cure. Over the past few days I've noticed some cloudy spots on my Naso Tang that slowly seem to be getting worse. I tried to take a picture but he is being camera shy. Definitely don't think it's ich but rather stress spots or some type of bacterial issue. After realizing Furan 2 is discontinued I saw API Fin and Body Cure on Amazon. Seems like a very similar product. Could I and should I treat with this? Picture attached is not my fish but instead a picture I found online that is very similar to what I'm experiencing.

Skip the fin and body cure which is a freshwater product with sodium chloride and will be an issue
The cloudy spots are likely a product of poor water quality and bacterial
Use seachem kanaplex in fresh seawater and monitor ammonia levels and increase oxygen with air stone during treatment

Thank you for pointing that out! I cancelled my order of Fin an Rot and purchased Kanaplex. I already run an airstone in my quarantine and plan to do a water change within next 2 days.

That product is doxycycline - I wouldn’t use it n marine tanks. All tetracyclines are inactivated by calcium in the water, so their use should be relegated to freshwater only. Then, this antibiotic is mostly effective against gram positive bacteria and most external marine bacteria are gram negative.

What do you think about using Kanaplex instead?

Agree about the inactivation (partial) - but Doxycycline is a pretty broad spectrum (gram positive and gram negative) antibiotic (for those freshwater enthusiasts).

I was always taught that does control some gram negative, but better for gram positive. I forgot to add it is also light sensitive, not sure if reef tank lights will break it down or not....
