Hey everyone, I currently have 4 Carberryi Anthias (Nemanthias carberryi) that I've have for about a year now and since I've upgraded I would like to get a few more anthias, perhaps 4-6 more of other species of anthia.. current tank is 4x2x2 120 gallon with a LOT of swimming room, minimal landscape style specifically for more swimming room for the fish.

What other species can I mix with Carberryi Anthias (Nemanthias carberryi)? I've done some reading a couldn't find much about the particular anthia that I have with mixing.. but I generally ready they should all be females with their max growing sizes about the same and getting babies/small anthias? Any help would be appreciated!

Dispar/ignitus probably the best choice.

Good chance they might battle. Anytime I've tried they killed each other which I found odd since they never bothered any other fish

Cool tank, like the scape, and that open scape should help give good swim room.

I've had carbs mixed w/ dispar and lyretails, no problems at all w/ all 3 of those together for me.

What size tank and how many of each did you have?

I,ve had a number of groupings in various tanks over the years, 2x180's and 150's, and present 120g.

4-5 lyretails usually, 3-4x carberryi and same for dispar.

My present 120g has 5x lyretails and I plan to add one more species group, was thinking carbs or dispar, but maybe I'll look at ignitus, 3 or so, and I'll probably stop there.
I've never had ignitus myself, wasn't sure what people's success rate w/ them but sounds doable, and they look pretty cool.

Pseudoanthias tend to fight within their species, so assuming adequate tank size, just about any mix of species will work. Only exception I found was within the franzia sub genus. Lyres and hutchii will fight.

So how many anthias TOTAL do you plan on keeping in your 120gallon?
