Mixing Instant ocean reef crystals

I mixed a batch of instant ocean reef crystals 8 gallons at 1.025 and I tested the water and the p.h is 8.0 calcium 460 alkalinity 7. I’m using ro water. Why is my alk a 7? Please help

Mix the bucket.

Seriously, roll it around. Stratification is a real thing with the buckets. BRS did an investigates video about it.

A person can toss / mix a 20lb salt bag alot easier than a 5 gallon bucket that weighs 60lb.
