Setting up the ol' redsea 625 xxl soon, looking at rock.

Is it ok to mix the two? Getting 120 ish pounds of live rock is just wayyyy to expensive. Is there any harm in getting 20 pounds of the good stuff and using marcorock for the rest?

Absolutely fine! You could buy 75-80% dry and seed it with 20-25% "live" and still be fine. It's totally personal preference.

Agree I went dry rock only just to go pest free but it takes alot longer for the dry rock to come around 5 months now and just starting to see the results worth the wait nope also have lava rock in my sump worth it nope putting in live rock tomorrow but hey this is just me others may differ

That's the way I've set up most of my tanks throughout the years, about half live, half dry base, coral skeletons, marco, stuff picked up on vacation.

Even when the good Fiji was $6 a pound it was still too much money :p .
