I got 500mg metro tablets i crushed a tiny bit off the edge of the tablet and mixed it in with the Masstick.

It says on the box of the metro, 1 tablet per 25gallon.

How much of the tablet should i put in masstick and how often to feed? @Humblefish @ReefSquad

Also I'm doing this in DT.

masstick is a great way to medicate your fish.

Noga references four different oral dosages for metronidazole. Three of the doses require that you know the weight of the fish (this is how I dose it). One reference says 5 grams of metronidazole per kg of food fed daily for two days. Trouble is, your 500 g tablet may not be 100% active ingredient, does the label say? Most pills have binders added to them.

You are going to need a gram scale I think to get an accurate dose. One trick is to dissolve the metro in ethanol, then take the needed amount of liquid and spray it on the food and let it air dry. For example - if you weight up 50 mg of metro and dissolve it in 50 ml of ethanol, you would put 10 ml of that liquid onto 10 grams of food.

That said, I worked for a public aquarium that simply made up food that was 5000 PPM metronidazole. This is simply 1/2%. Feed this for 3 days, then repeat in ten days. Metro is very bitter however, and some fish soon learn to avoid it.
