Knowing the two red sea salts have different parameters, with the blue bucket having lower and the pro having higher levels, has anyone ever mixed the two to make a happy medium between them? Just a thought, which maybe stupid, but I figured I would ask and someone could enlighten me.

I've seen a couple people on here do it. I got a bucket of coral pro myself. The high alk seem to be having a effect on my corals. Went out a got the blue bucket. I mix the two for parameters that seem to do well in my tank. So far everything looks great. Young tank though. But seeing pretty good growth out of my monti cap. My Lps are doing well too.

I did this for a while with out seeing any issues. Only changed because needed salt asap and LFS didn't have the blue bucket so went different kind

Did it just last night. Needed a little extra calcium and alk. Didn't test before I put it into the tank. Should have I know. But I did about a 50/50 mix. No ill effects on the tank. I'll do some water test later and see what my tank is sitting at parameters wise.

Good information to know.
I have a quick question, Can you mix Red Sea salt 24 hours before the actual water change? I've heard mixed reviews on this and wanted to ask. Thanks

The Only mix right information I saw on the blue bucket was saying a pound is where you get the measurement correct for the salinity anybody know what a cup would measure out.

About 2 -1/2 cups per 5 gallons gets close to 35ppt. Start there and test to see if you need to add a little salt or more RO

I was wondering the same thing.

For red sea blue bucket? Thanks!

I'd start there. You might need to add a little salt but it's a good starting point. I use both black and blue bucket.

i was given a bucket by someone locally. Mine mixed up at 8.8/440/1320. Alk was a bit on the high side according to the bucket for 1.026.
