Hello,

I didn't see to many threads on this so I thought I would try it.

Reason: I have a 4 head doser and I want to dose aminos as well so something had to be combined.
A = Iodine
B = Potassium
C = Iron
D = Trace

A and B
No precipitate, no color change

A and C
No precipitate, slightly yellower

A and D
No precipitate, Yellowed after a while

B and C
No precipitate, turned instantly neon orange.

B and D

So based on my observation you may be able to mix A and B or B and D.
I went with A and B.

Maybe @Randy Holmes-Farley or some other chem buff can chime in.

Thanks,

Ram

I’m no chemist but just because there’s no observable change to color or precipitation doesn’t mean that it hasn’t changed in some way. There’s got to be a reason Red Sea made 4 solutions instead of 3.

Yeah I know, thought Id give it a try anyways.

Thanks, like I said, I didn't find a thread on it. I have the test kits, I'll see in a couple days if I have iodine and potassium now.

I agree with the sentiment that if there's a precipitate, it's a no go. If there isn't, it might or might not be OK. Combining B with the amino acids instead of combining the inorganic chemicals may be a better bet.
