Hello everyone, I was wondering,it's nothing new talking about the brown residue left in the container when using IO reef crystals. Would it help or be to any advantage to run a canister filter on my mixing container to remove the organics causing the brown residue?

Yup. I run a single canister reactor with a 5 micron. No brown crud. Prefilter on mixing pump, or a filter sock also work well. Go 10 micron if you go with a sock.

I never bothered.... I wouldn’t disagree with filtering it first ... Marineland makes a nifty polisher .... sorta a Maxijet mounted on a canister ...I use it for carbon and chemipure
