Mixing Saltwater with bucket liner?

So I've read that mixing salt in a large container like a plastic can will eventually result in residue accumulating in the container and will need to be scrubbed out from time to time.

I was thinking perhaps using a liner like a disposable heavy duty 55 gallon drum liner would preclude having to scrub out the the mixing container. Is there a downside to this approach?

Over time, there will be some amount of residue buildup in any long term salt water storage container. If you're utilizing the same container repeatedly without cleaning it out, the residue will accumulate. If you're willing to line the container to avoid that issue, it seems like it may be easier to wipe down the reservoir instead of lining them between uses if practical. I use 50 gallon brutes as my reservoirs, and it only takes a couple of minutes to wipe them out before refilling them.

Easiest way to avoid stuff like that is to do a quick rinse between mixing, or a light wipe down like Aquanut said. Kinda like cleaning pots and pans as you cook instead of leaving them all for when you're finished.
