So the directions on the salt i have tells me to wait 3 days before using the water for a waterchange. Does anyone know if it would hurt the fish or tank if i used it when its only sat for 1 day or two? I'm asking because im leaving and wont be back until for a week and i need to do a water change before i leave but the third day is the day i leave and i wont have time.

Only possibility i see would be it wouldnt be mixed 100%(very unlikely after 24 hours). And even if this is the case it will be mixed 90% and +\- 10% in parameters on a pwc is irrelevant

That's funny. On the other end of the spectrum, my Tropic Marin Bioactif isn't supposed to stay mixed for more than 24 hours without use haha

i have used my salt within an hour after mixing for water changes with no ill effects.

Geez. I mix saltwater and use it as soon as it’s clear. Who can plan 3 days in advance for a simple water change?

I have not heard of a salt mix that was not good to go in 24 hours. Most of the time, you can use it after a couple of hours as long as it has all dissolved. Powerheads are good.
