What kind of pump/powerhead would you recommend to mix saltwater with? I am using it a 32gal brute. Don’t want to spend a ton of money, but want something that will mix well.

My go to is the Danner Mag 5 with a 3/4" tee fitting on the end for the brute can..that pump lasts forever. I use an old Koralia powerhead for mixing a 5 gallon bucket.

I have 3000gph rossmont and a jager 300w in my brute.

Be patient! After you’ve been in the hobby a little while you’ll have multiple extra power heads and pumps you no longer use just like the rest of us! They seem to multiply like rabbits!

Some cheap pump I bought used on eBay for like 10 bucks years ago. The magnet broke off but it works fine. Mixing pump doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive, it only has to work an hour a week! I’d get the cheapest one you can find on amazon (or two just in case).

Just use 5 gallon water jugs and shake them. You get a work out and your salt mixed hahahahah

I use one of my old small aquatop power heads that should be dead.

The cheapest mixing device I've found for my 32g Brute cans... You may laugh, but this sucker only takes a few minutes of mixing around and all salt is beautifully mixed. I then turn on a cheap jabao powerhead I got off a local selling app for $10 and let it mix for a couple hours. But honestly, the paddle does it all....the jabao only keeps it moving.

Btw...that paddle is $5 at Walmart.

lol thanks all, I have been in the hobby for a bit now, my brute can went dry in my basement as I do AWC, and I didn‘t realize and i burnt the motor out on my hydor. Was just wondered what other people used.

Done the same thing with a hydor korralia nano(I have 3 in my brute from a previous build). They went 2 weeks while I was on vaca of not being in water, and running. Took them all out, cleaned them up(had a lot of precipitate on them and the motors were seized up from it) in some citric acid, and they have been running perfect for the last 2 years.
