Mixing station cable routing question

I'm setting up my first mixing station with a 65g horizontal cylinder storage container. How does everyone route the power cables for power heads/pumps and heaters inside the storage tank. I assume you leave the poweheads/ pumps inside full time to cycle the water every now and again.

I think most people that set them up use an external pump.
Not sure a heater is needed. (temp vs how much water is changed)
You can leave the heater in as long as you have water covering the heater. I put it in as needed.

So most people use external pumps to mix the salt? I was thinking of two power heads to mix and maybe leave them in there to turn on every so often to keep the water from settling

You can do the 2 power head thing.
The reason behind 1 external pumps is that it can be used to both mix the salt (suck out at bottom and re-enter at top) and if you have 2 ball valves you can use 1 to shut off the recirculation and another to to open up a water feed line to the tank.
This has 2 tanks but it can be done with 1.

small salt water mixing station?

Does anyone know where I can get some small containers like these, preferably no more than 25 gallons. the total volume of my system is 23 gallons so I would need a huge mixing station, also are there any threads that explain how to set this up? Would you use uniseals? Thank you!

Ok that makes sense. I was actually planning on using Apex DOS for auto water changes. So essentially set up the external pump like you said and then have the line for the DOS plumbed into the tank
