Mixing Station Drilled for Heater

Anyone drill into their mixing station to put the heater inside while keeping the lid closed? Or do you just run wires out the top of the lid, with the lid open?

Thinking of the best approach for this

I drilled a hole big enough to fit a plug and run all the cords through the hole. Currently have a heater and powerhead, air hose going through the hole.
