It looks like you are following a tried-and-true design. I'm curious how you are incorporating the Apex and what you are controlling (or plan to control). I use the Hydros controller and AquaFX RODI for my mixing station and am planning to add the new Hanna marine monitor.

Ya. I saw Mr Saltwater’s YouTube on new Hanna Marine monitor. I believe it comes on Black Friday. I’m in !

I plan to include redundancy for the RODI shut off, besides the stock float valve. I’m guessing an Apex high monitor alarm to tubing shutoff.

I also plan Apex DOS for ATO from RODI storage directly to sump. And DOS from salt water storage directly to sump. All new to me.
Wish me luck.

Hi I was wondering where you order the containers. Everywhere I look they sell for like 300 each plus another 300 shipping each.
Yes, that was my experience as well. The shipping seems to cost as much as the containers. I was able to find my Norweco containers at a local farm store (with some patience) so I didn’t have to pay for shipping. They only had one but they were able to have one transferred from another store at no additional cost.

TSC(tractor supply company) usually has some in stock. If not they can usually order them for you. Might be a bit more then the online sellers, but you don't have to pay the high shipping.

What is there to clean?

Ro/DI stays sparkling white, mixing one stays clean as I run a sediment filter on my mixing barrel. Haven't needed to clean mine in many years.

Unfortunately this prevented me from moving forward with my planned mixing station (would have been like OG pic above) so I just went with 2 - 44 Gallon Brute trash cans w/Lids and Wheels from HD for ease of movement.

I just figured either vessel would eventually develop a film that would have to be cleaned on occasion

Since we’re on the subject, which salt are you mixing?

Plain jane purple box IO. Been using it for the better part of 30 years. I have found over the years, it's consistent(so much so I don't even test ALK anymore, just dump in my specified amount of muriatic acid to lower alk, and all is good), stores well, and is readily available pretty much anywhere.

Like I said earlier though, I run my mixing barrel through a RO/DI sediment filter, which keeps my vessel nice and clean. All the "brown crud" is in the filter.

Hi there, I’m building my station now and was wondering how you decided what size hole to drill in the base of the tanks? Did you design the hole size based on the input feed of the pump?
