Mixing water

Newbie question. Might be silly. It’s my first time letting salt water sit before water change. Lol. I usually pick up water then use it within the hour. Anyways, I’ve had salt water stored for about a week that’s already been mixed. I was told to run the pump before changing water and not just change still water. But how long do I let the pump run for oxygen?

Is it in sealed containers? If so I would probably run an air stone in it for 15 minutes or so. I’m assuming a 5 gallon jug.

5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of water. It was sealed yes. A pump or air stone will work right?

Yes either will work. Said airstone in case it was more of a water bottle with small opening. You really can’t run it too long. Just want to get it well aerated.
