I picked up a nice frag of King Midas yesterday with about 25 heads. I have had a plug of Kedd's Reds that has grown to about the same over the last couple months. I have a rock that I would really like to try to intermix them on. Will they coexist or will I end up with red on one side and yellow on the other? What if I fragged both and glued pieces around the rock. Never fragged a zoa before. Is this a crazy idea that has no chance of working?

My zoa garden. They go very well together.

I do this often.....just try to mix common sizes. many larger palys/zoas will eventually overgrow the smaller ones

It's a bit of luck and careful selection... sometimes thsh overgrow each other... but usually they grow well and around each other...

I have done a few.. actually just started a new one with some higher end polyps..

Its a colorful creation. Simply a rock such as pukani will suffice to allow implants or as in my case, a resin frag rock with mixed colored plugs. When blended and through growth will give you that creation.

Anyone ever noticed zoa/paly warfare, or do they live in harmony?

I don't think the do chemical war with each other, but in my experience the Palys outgrow the zoas for light every time. Palys are banished from my display nowadays. So many more cool color choices in the zoas.
