Hey all, wondering what I can do about algae growth on the base of my sps. I moved it up a bit higher on the rock a few weeks back but in the process I rotated it and think I cooked part of the base that normally dead not seen much light and lost some tissue. As a result, algae has taken over that part. Should I leave it alone? I’m getting crabs and critters on it going after the algae and decaying matter and I don’t want it more irritated than it already is but also don’t want to mess with it if I don’t have to. It seems to be healthy other than that one spot. Other sps is doing fine in the tank. This is taken at night with a flashlight on it.

Leave it. Crabs and snails will keep it in check and once it takes off it’ll grow over the algae.
