Where to start.
I have been reefing for quite a few years.
My display tank is 120 inches by 40 inches by 36 inches.

This system has been running for many years. About a year and a half ago I had a crushing blow to the system that resulted in me just unplugging everything but a return pump and the ato.
At the time, i was working out of town and only really got to see the system once a week for a couple of hours.
I had the great idea of taking my rodi system down to clean it and forgot to put it back up. This was January 2018. So later in the month I came home to hear a pump sucking air from lack of water. So in a panic I attach a hose to my sink and start filling. With the return chamber missing roughly 25 to 30 gallons on empty normally when doing a water change.
So I hop in the shower and get ready to go out of town again.
Few days going by and I wake up in the middle of the night horrified. As I just realized I left the cold water from the sink running into my system.
I could call any one until morning to go check.
6 days of cold tap water running into the system.
I came home to find the display just cover in condensation. Water alarms going off. 4 inches of water on the floor in the fish room.
Everything in the system died. I was heart broken.
Up to about 3 days ago i havent touched the system.
I focus on work since then having a 120 by 16 by 30 system at worked helped to forget my pains, but its only a fish only tank.

I now have the excitement back again for my system
So my display is roughly 750 gallons.
Sump is 260 gallons
My 2 cryptic refugium are about 300ish gallon i havent decide to connect back into the system yet.
I'll be doing aquascaping in the next couple of days.
I plan on taking all the sand out and going bare bottom this time. As i want to go pretty much 90% sps.
For flow I havent decided what I am going to use yet. I have a bunch of different ones I am going to use until I figure that one out.
For lighting
I am using 3 x 400 watts radium. They won't be on until after my cycle is done. I plan on running them 5 to 8 hours a day
I also have 8 x 48 true actinic xho reefbrites that well be on 8 to 12 hours
I plan on adding radions into the mix once I have the system established.
For return pumps I have 4 jebao 15000dcs
2 mag 18s and 2 jebao 12000 as back ups and a mag 24.
Heaters are Jager 300 watt. I have 6 in the sump.
I have an extrenal lifereef skimmer. Ill probably end up replacing or add in a nyos 300.
There was about 1900 pounds of rock in the system
My new aquascape well only be 1/3 of the rock of what was in there.
My two things i can't decide and need help with is.
Fish list so I can plan on what to put in and when
What size qt I want to use.
I have 2 40 gallon frag style systems for qt new corals. That have 250 watt radiums and a reefbrite.

I am really looking forward to everyone's input of fish.
Here is what I have so far for my wish list.
Black storms clownfish x 3 pairs
Vlamingii tang x 1
Tamarin wrasses x 4
I am open to everything else.

My wish list for a similar sized tank looks like this:
• *Achilles tang
• Yellow mimic tang
• Maculiceps tang
• Yellow eyed Kole tang
• Chevron tang
• Spotted yellow eyed tang
• Lieutenant tang
• Purple tang
• Blue hippo tang (yellow belly)
• *Desjardin Sailfin tang and/or red sea
• dussumieri tang or fowleri tang (probably will never have either but its nice to dream)
• Freckle faced tang
• CBB
• Pyramid butterfly and/or zosters (several)
• *Flasher wrasses perhaps 4 or 5 (mccosker's, carpenters, blue, filamented, diamond tail, half banded, bell's)
• Group of anthias, leaning towards lyretails (psuedoanthias)
• Fairy wrasses (purple-lined wrasse, etc.)
• Borbonius
• Bangai cardinal
• Engineer goby
• *Gold lined rabbitfish or orange spot rabbitfish
• *Dragonette (blue or red)
• Two spot blenny
• Midas blenny
• Eibli angel (potential clam nipper)
• *Spotbreast angel
• *Japanese swallowtail angel
• Majestic angel**
• Goldflaked angel**
• Scribbled angelfish**
• Moorish idol (doubtful)
• Marine beta
• Royal gramma (several)
• Scisortail damsels, large group (Chrysiptera genus)
• Some type of dartfish (zebra barred and/or firefish)
• Moly Miller blenny (reported to eat aiptasia and cyanobacteria)
• Panda goby (likes to chill in pocilipora branches)

I took some candidates off due to your wanting a BB tank, I may have missed some that need a sand bed though. Also bear in mind this is a lot of fish and even if your tastes are similar to mine they may not all be able to reside in your tank.

I hope this helps but your tastes are likely different than mine.

Just got the rock out so I can start getting out the sand bed and rubble rock

Thats some nice looking rock. Are you planning on bleach and/or acid washing it?

Have you had a chance to think more on your stocking plans? If you like angels since you plan to do an SPS dominated tank, depending on how much you're willing to gamble that opens up some of the "reef safe with caution" angels.

Here is the list of what was in there before the crash.
2 Vlamingii tangs
1 red sea Sailfin Tang
1 Atlantic blue tang
1 epaulets tang
1 white tail tang
2 regal tangs
4 convict tangs
1 naso tang
1 blue eyed bristle tang
1 meta tang
1 achilles tang
1 purple tang
1 blonde naso tang
1 clown tang
3 yellow tangs
4 blue throat triggers
2 two bar rabbit's
3 one spot foxfire
1 mated file fish
6 zebra go ies
1 sailfin blenny
2 Japanese masked swallow tail angels
1 coral beauty angel
1 checkerboard wrasse
1 two spot wrasse
4 Lubbock fairy wrasses
1 cleaner wrasse
2 blue sided fairy wrasses
1 exquisite fairy wrasse
1 clown fairy wrasse
1 pintail fairy wrasse
1 yellow tail tamarine wrasse
1 red tail tamarine wrasse
1 starry blenny
1 lawnmower blenny
8 square back anthias
6 regular ocellaris clowns
2 black storms clowns
2 black and white ocellaris

I see you like tangs as well! Thats quite an impressive list, and very sorry for the losses.

I am fixing all the th8ng I didn't like with the system this time.
I hated the returns being in the middle.
Having two overflows sounds like a great idea. In reality you have to always tune them so i am blocking off one. That should make life so much easier.
Thank you Nautitang. It was really hard to even look at the tank for a really long time.
A lot of my fish were 11 to 16 years old. I had them a long time.
I was thinking of having a tang shoal. Something different I see lots of aquarist do yellows. I loved my convicts and I was thinking maybe ill do a shoal of powder blues.

do PBTs shoal well together I'd like to see that if so? Another option could be regal tangs if not, or (I know they're not tangs but they're georgious IMO) pyramid butterflies.
Good luck with the PBTs!

Here is what it looks like clean no sand.
Also did a bit of aquascaping. Its not letting me upload pictures from my phone.

also picked up 4 tune 6214 waveboxes today.
2 more single ended mogal 250 watt metal halides.
That 5 x 250 watt radium halide and 8 x 48 inch reef brites xho. So far. I have a feeling ill be adding 8 more reef brite to the mix once i get going.
Planning on finishing the aquascape tomorrow hopefully and then I can start adding rodi water to it.

Just hooked up the rodi line into the aquarium.
this is the back wall. I didn't want anything touching the back wall. Better for flow.

Oh, I know. I am having a hard time trying to find any local reefers with out any problems with there rock (aefw, red flatworms, aptisia, or clove polyps.) It there system to lean me some live rock to help kick start the system.
Thinking I might go get brightwell bacter7 or fritz 900. Havent decided yet.

ATM Colony.

It works exactly as it says it does

Well, i got brightwell microbacter start xml.
Still have to grab test kits.
My rodi unit has been running for 2 days straight now. Got roughly 10 inches of water.
Put 2 x 300 watt fluval heaters in the tank with 2 wp-60 jebao i had laying around.
Hopefully I'll get to the sump in the next couple of days to clean it out and move it under the aquarium. Then I can start on the plumbing.
