I currently have a pair of Tunze 6015s in my 20 long which is LPS dominated. It's a lot of powerful and direct flow for my sensitive euphyllia, especially in the turbulent zone in the middle. I'm cheap and don't want to buy different powerheads. I'm thinking since the 6015 has such a long nozzle if I were to cut the nozzle down to a shorter length I could possible get some wider flow and lessen the impact. Has anyone ever tried this?

People have been doing that for years. It works some people cut some of the spines to add to the flow.

Yeah I might give it a go. I know there's plenty of mods to increase flow so I was a little concerned about accidentally doing that when I cut down the nozzle to widen the flow as well. I also have been toying around with some PVC endcaps on the pumps I drilled a bunch of holes into as a way to reduce and widen flow.
