Well, it's official. Mel, my melanurus wrasse (can't believe i've given a fish a name ;Hilarious) is a murderer. I saw him darting across the tank with a hermit crab in his mouth. He was violently shaking his head and ripped its legs off and then consumed them. R.I.P.

Great write up. I just got my Mode Infinity 100g. It was a long wait and had some minor hiccups, but my LFS took care of. I built the stand and was wondering if the top panel needed to be screwed down and how I was going to keep the foam from moving and found this thread. I had watched eat sleep reef and inappropriate reefers videos but they didn't go into too much detail. My brothers were on their way over to help me bring the tank in when I found your thread and I screwed the panel down and also had to cut the foam to fit. You hit it spot on with Mode lacking some attention to detail. For anyone looking to buy from Mode, make sure you do a full inspection ASAP upon the tank arriving, I waited to open the box and this almost bit me. Thanks again for the attention to detail in your post!

Excellent write up! I'm making the decision right now whether to start with a 100 -120g tank or start with a smaller 40-50. I'm thinking I may just go with the larger size so I don't end up wanting to upgrade it so quickly

Hey, fishdude. Tank is doing well. I added a yellow coris wrasse a couple of weeks ago. The melanarus wrasse and yellow watchman goby are doing great. Corals are doing well, as is about everything in the tank. The tank is basically on autopilot. Other than feeding the fish a couple of times a day and dosing all-for-reef once a day, I'm letting the tank do its thing.

I've also cut down on water changes. I was doing 10% weekly. I'm now doing 5% bi-weekly and everything is looking good. I haven't checked any of my parameters in months and probably won't unless something looks wrong.
