Model 12B Utility Pump, to big for 55g?

So I currently have a single return off my Mag 7 and at about 4' head loss my dual loc line returns don't have flow as much as I want.. So my brother gave me a Model 12B Utility Pump (1200gph) and I know it's quite a little upgrade from my Mag 7 but my question is, is it too much..??

I want to make a manifold to incorporate a reactor and something else possibly, so I'll have it gated and split, but still not sure if it'd be to much for me..

It should be fine if you are plumbing items off of of it. Assuming you have at least one 1" drain or more.

Thanks man! I'm building a manifold for my 10g sump, and I plan on cutting the pump back some which I believe will be needed.. In comparison to my Mag 7 I believe this Model 12B is a bit superior, and my Mag 7 is fully open so I think I may be ok, just never used one of those pumps before..
