I missed a lot of things over the years of not reefing and mods were definitely one of them.
I love when folks take a manufactured product and make it better.
The ASM line of skimmers are great but definitely could be improved, and hobbyists did.
I received my ASM as a freebie and had no knowledge of mods regarding the line. Recently just browsing old posts I found the mod to regulate the height in the ASM column without wetting your hands. Anyone who owns one knows that in order to raise or lower the water you have to push or pull on the standpipe to achieve your desired height, your hands were getting wet.
But for a few bucks you can add a gate valve and a few pieces of PVC and wala, you have an adjustable ASM without the mess.
I'm glad someone years ago used their imagination lol
