Modifying sump

I need to remove the drain and filter socks pieces (circled in yellow) in a bashsea biofuge sump. Any idea? I tried with a razor blade but afraid it could be glued using acrylic bonding agent. Any ideas?

I think its "welded" with acrylic glue yes, I think cutting with a dremmel style tool could work I've cut acrylic with one it tends to want to burn and melt but can be done. That's my idea?

What are you going to do? I need to cut out the return section on my new sump, let me know what you come up with.

Sump is operational and dont want to empty it, so it rules out this option. Thx though
