Hi!

Currently building a new tank. The display tank will be 140L(36G) and the sump will be 86L(22G). Total system volume 60 gallons.

I am looking at the Modular Marine overflow and will need to order from the USA. (If anyone knows a good EU dealer for overflows please let me know. I've not found any of the common brands yet. Only HOB overflows).

The overflow needs to sit on a 39cm(15.35in) wide section. The 800 gph would fit much better, being only 8" while the 1200gph is 11.875" .

Is 800gph OK for this size tank?
OR
Is there a better 'nano' sized alternative that can fit in such a small space?

Any comments appreciated!

@Sallstrom and @Lasse are both from Sweden and very experieneced. Hopefully, they'll chime in and give you suggestions.

Thanks Lasse was nice enough when I joined to give a list of sites he used. Unfortunately just not seeing an overflow selection. Only see HOB by tunze or aqua medic .

Going to call the local shop once they open to see if they have suggestions beyond what their site shows.

After more reading I think 800gph is good for this tank. Thatll give me more than 10x possible turnover, which is more than enough. Additional mp10 or equivalent in the display tank if I want more flow there.

Modular marine was kind enough to send their hole diagram via email so I can draw up the holes needed for the glass shop.

Yes, the 800gph is large enough to support your 36g (I used the 1200gph on our 75g but am nowhere near the max throughput).
