I'm looking for an external overflow for my nano build. Right now I'm still trying to source a tank but it's going to be nano size (20x20x16, 20x20x20, 24x20x14, or 24x24x12) so somewhere between 25-35g.
Modular marine lists their smaller overflow with three 1/2" drains but they say it can be changed to three 3/4" upon request.
I suppose my question is, for a small tank only running 200-250gph if I'm better off staying with the stock 1/2 drains or going to 3/4".
I know other tank manufacturers run 3/4" herbie drains even for their nanos.
Just curious from a noise and tuning perspective if bigger is not always better.
I'd wager the 3/4" would probably be less likely to be fouled by a snail.
System noise/quietness is essential in this build.
