If I could start my tank over, I would make my aquascape and then proceed to drill tons of frag plug sized holes all over for easier mounting and, more importantly, modularity. I find that I like to move my corals around, so why am I glueing them in place!?

There are products (i.e. ArtReef Rocks ) that seem to be doing this but I am surprised it is not more common. Even on the scale or being able to remodel your aquascape’s rock layout.

my solutions for frag relocation has mostly been this awesome product from printed reef. I have attached pictures below but they are spikes with a single frag holder that you can stick or glue into your rock work so you can change frags easily at a whim. They are perfect. The other solutions I use are smaller rocks drilled for frag plugs, but these are limited to the sand. And lastly I use magnetic frag racks that look like live rock from Aquarocks for additional modularity.

What are your best tips and/or tricks to achieve modularity in your tank?

I like using rock fragments (which are sometimes quite large if using on a toadstool or finger leather). I treat my main aquascape as more of a base to add rock to as I add corals. I have attached a coral directly to base for a couple of years now. Easy to move even when I use some epoxy. I do find I don't need as much epoxy or glue as long as I find a rock frag that naturally fits where I want it. Not always possible. I rearranged some corals a month ago and it was easy peazy.
