ITs a old euro reef 6-2or 3 + uses sedra 5000. ITs gone today.
Going to run a buddies GEO skimmer to give his sedra 9000 a little tune up. I have a WM s200 I am going to play around with but I am not sure what I am going to run more long term on the tank. I am hoping for maybe a ATB 8.5 deluxe, Something new from Warner Marine, a used BK or maybe just build myself another skimmer.
I will take a few more pics here later tonight or tomorrow after I get the wiring tucked away and get the dosers hooked back up. I did get the ph probe and heater tucked away in the sump and hooked up to the controller. The real kicker is I bought 30lbs of rock to add for this setup and its been seeding in the frag tank with 150+lbs of Live rock for the last month. And now I dont think I want to add anymore rock. More pics to come. Have the local Fort Wayne Marine Aquatics Society (FWMAS) meeting today so that will take up some time. ANdI have to clean up my 57gallon for the new owner. Business first, pleasure later (new tank stuff )
Thank you all for tagging along.
I get a lot of people asking about the 3 ft light over the 4 ft tank. At one point I always thought I needed a 4 ft fixture on a 4 ft tank, 3ft on a 3ft ect... Not really the case. I bought the 3ft fixture for my 57g only because they were out of the 2ft ati at the time. And it ended up being too much light. Even reducing the light cycle I was bleaching coral out on the sand. Had to remove high par bulbs and put in a couple UVL super actinics to drop the par in the tank. So thus far I am happy with the light spread over the 4ft tank and the look. Not to mention I have extra room to work in the tank. I was able to add all my rock and never move the light. Just my 2 cents on it.
Ok well I have been working on this off and on all weekend. I am 98 % done. Got a few wires to tuck away and I am good.
Did some water testing today. As 75% of the water is new
Salt 1.024
Mg 990
alk 7
Cal 340
Kinda disappointed as I am using Brightwell Aquatics salt. Thought it would test out a little better than that. So time to start dosing it up.
Will take some pics tomorrow. for a update.
I also put in a small fan in the stand to bring in fresh air. The stand was getting pretty musty smelling inside as there was a 3 inch hole in the back for cables and vent. But that was not enough. I added a 2 inch hole and a fan bring in fresh air. This made all the difference.
Ok, Actinics came on so I snapped some pics. Not the best as its hard to take actinic shots. but here you go. Round one and ill take more when the rest of the lights come on.
i forgot to add this earlier...
i would make a new durso thou, and krylon fusion it black..
i kept trying to figure out what the white thing floating in the tank was but then i saw from the new pics it's the durso threw the overflow teeth....
just a suggestion fwiw...lol
rite on.. i know there cheap enough to make so if it were me i would just make a new one paint it and let it cure for a couple days and swap them real quick...the set up looks real clean thats why i suggested it...it was popping out..
actually if you chop it down you might not even have to lol....
