So that is how it starts... It has been 20 years since my last adventure with a reef tank (or any tank for that matter). My girlfriends daughter wants a Nemo fish. Guess I could have bought a nano and set it up with Nemo but since I still had my 58 reef tank hanging out in storage I decided to fire it up with some new equipment. Left the wet/dry in storage along with the weazing Oceanic skimmer and used a 20G tank with dividers for a sump/refugium and a new octopus skimmer. Upgraded the t-12 lights to t-5 and here we are... 2 months and still without Nemo. But we are getting close!

Welcome to R2R and it looks like you are off to a good start with your tank.

I'd say your off to a good start. The movie Finding Nemo fired up my addiction again after my 18 month old fell in love with the movie. Now I have a well established 55g reef with a Nemo and Bubbles lol

Oh man, love that rock. I should try and get some tonga in my tank. Glad you are taking it slow and not rushing for the sake of the kid. Keep up the great work, and welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the kudos everyone. The rock actually came from Manado sight unseen. I was extremely pleased with what showed up. The rock cycled in just over 10 days with an ammonia spike that didn't reach 1.0. When I opened the box it smelled just like the ocean (I was expecting something a little more foul). Once again, thanks for the warm welcome!
