Money Pit

Can I ask what the dimensions are? I just put a deposit on a new 375 (84X32X32) and this looks simular. Following.

Subd. This should be a nice one!

The Kessil will work but you'll need a handful of them with acros. Don't start with high intensity with that light.

HAPPY NEWS YEARS EVERYONE!!

Couple more shots of the plumbing above the tank.

Mock fit of the return line - a second line will follow the first down the back of the tank. A third return will make a 45 out of the 90 in the bottom left corner of the pic.

This is an aerial view of the pre-filter. The middle return is missing in this pic; it goes in between the two 1.5" drains. Went with a durso piping design. This is my first time using this type of setup and I still need to drill vent holes in the top of the drains.

Hopefully, I'll have more completed this weekend. I can almost see the water flowing through the tank now...

I'm thinking 5 or 6 Kessils and as many T5's retrofitted around the kessils as I can get.

Very neat setup. Suscribed.

Ok............. but what will be your emergency drain?
I hope you planning one with that size tank.

Very nice system in progress! Tagging along to see this one come to life!

Honestly, I haven't really thought about an emergency drain. I didn't have one on my 210 and it ran for years without a problem - but now you have me thinking that it might not be a bad idea. I was not running a Durso pre filter designing on the old tank, it was old school and sounded like Niagara falls with an open pipe sticking straight up. I really like the option to have 3 separate returns on this tank, but I like my hard wood floors too. lol!!

Finally plumbed the tank last night!

A close up the returns, drains and refugium supply line.

A second angle of the plumbing. I still need a couple of hose clamps for the refugium line, but I think it turned out rather nice - especially since I haven't a plumbed a large tank in years!! Makes me miss working on them for a living...

Time for a water test! Fingers crossed!

IT'S ALIVE!!! I still need to add a support to the return lines to help carry the weight.

Looking good so far, my friend.
What did you decide on the emergency overflow?

That is way too nice looking. Has to be photoshopped ;)

Nothing a little saturation and sharpening can't fix, right?! I appreciate it! I'm having fun building it! Back to the waiting game again. I am now in the process of buying a sliding compound mitter saw and a table saw. THEN..... building a nice work bench for the garage and FINALLY (too many projects) on the timing out the stand. The pump is noisy, so I'm sound proofing the stand.
