So I have 4 tanks 3 mixed reefs and one frag tank. I don’t wanna break the bank but want to get something to will protect me from things like heater failure or any other this to protect my investment. Any suggestions would be great.

A controller would be your best, most failsafe way. I've seen people run multiple tanks off a single apex unit. It can monitor all your systems and take corrective action. Yes its 800 bucks but your tanks and coral combined are likely worth alot more than that

Yeah I’ve looked at apex just don’t see a way to run one apex on my systems they are in all areas of home. That’s why was looking for a less expensive setup.

I don't know the size of your home or how it is setup, but you can still control multiple tanks in different rooms of the the house using a controller such as the Apex. The way the Apex is set up, all you need to do is be able to run long Apex cables from any module to where you want to go. I run two tanks and a reptile enclosure of a single Apex, with the tanks spread out all over the place. Neptune states that the Aquabus cables can run as long as 200 feet, but others have ran even farther than that.
