Big weekend. The plumbing reroute was the bane of my existence all weekend. I soldered the hot water line (on the left).. twice before I got so sick of it I just went back to the store and redid the entire thing in pex A.
Once that was FINALLY done, I installed the 2x10 header and took down the temporary braces. Starting to look like something!
DIY is not for everyone and it is a major pain at times but it really is satisfying when it finally works out... And you save a TON of money

Along the vein of every day a little closer. Picked up my "little" power back system today. Literally dragged it on a piece of plastic i had laying around to the back of the house.

In terms of standbybackup generators its the smallest they make

So.. this weekend I spent a ton of time building a pulley system to raise and lower the absurdly large light rack of mine. Got it all built, one winch raises and lowers the whole unit.. But my ceiling is just too #$%#$ low. I had originally thought it was an 8' ceiling and I thought I could make it work with the 7'6" ceiling I have. But it will be virtually impossible to get anything large in and out of the tank.
So now I have to tear the hole thing down and install a unistrut trolley system so I can just slide the entire light system away from the aquarium.

I can of hit a wall so to speak. There comes a time when you shoulders are sore, there are tools and materials scattered all over the place and you have this HUGE aquarium in front of you and just say to yourself "what in the name of all things holy where you thinking?"
And I still have not figured out how I am going to plumb this thing.

Ok. Still working on plumbing and have to run electrical but I decided to finish the in wall part. The top 24" above the tank hinges up for access. Pretty stooked in how it turned out.

So i built a relay switch to power my heaters. I am going for 3 800 watt heater elements which will pull about 25 amps. So for those thay dont know, a relay is a simple electric switch that turns a ciruit on and off when the power in that circuit is too high for the switchint ciruit. The two gfci outlets will be wired directly to two 110v power supplies. The white cord will plug into my apex. When the apex calls for heat it send power to the relays, the close... heat.
Fyi.. we keep the house around 60-65 all year.
