Hi all,
I bought this amazingly ugly fat hairy 4+ inch slug thing for $8 here in Hong Kong (if you've seen my other posts - staff here don't speak English so sometimes you take a bit of a gamble). I had presumed it was a stomatella. Then I read that those normally only grew to 1 inch. Oops. I reckon it's still some relative because it looks so similar.
It has a series of holes in a line along the center of its shell that hairs can come out with.
It was munching on macroalgae (which is good because my tank has far too much).
Surprisingly it was capable of moving very fast indeed (for a soug) over the substrate by floating slightly in the current and waving its sides - maybe 30cm in 1 second.
Very shy so hard to get a good pic, most of its body is hidden here:
