Montana girl here

Just got my 20 gal freshwater started. Moving in 6 months so the saltwater can wait a while longer i guess. The tank in my pic is my works blown out 400 gal with a little betta in it. Mostly here to lurk and learn things. Thanks!

Welcome! Glad you joined. I'm Lisa.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. Wish I had started documenting earlier. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

If you’re worried about moving with a 20 gallon saltwater, I wouldn’t be too worried about it. I moved from Williston ND to Billings with my 30 gallon Biocube and the only things that died were some of my cleanup crew and likely just because They were under the sand where I placed my rock back in the tank. I even had coral on my aqua scape.
Build your scape so it fits in buckets and you’d be able to empty everything except what covers your sand for the move (I built mine in two parts). Fish went in their own buckets. I had three buckets and my tank.

if saltwater is your goal, don’t let moving be your deterrent….unless you are moving ungodly far away.

welcome to R2R!

Living with the in laws currently and was told i could only have one tank and the saltwater is much bigger with a sump system so just going to chill until i have enough room for what i really want
