I’m guessing it’s normal but curious just to hear what people have to say. Since I noticed that my encrusting monti seems to be killing the coraline algae as it touches it then overtakes the spot on the rock. Do all corals do this and I’ve never noticed before? Am I not seeing things correctly?

Thank you. Seems obvious but suppose just never clicked for me til I saw the coraline turning hot pink then white then gone.
