Just recently purchased a Seasons Greetings cap from WWC, but within 1-2 days in my tank it lost nearly all green coloration. Polyps are looking more orange than red now as well.

I don't ever test my parameters as I have never seen the need to (never had any significant problems). I can usually tell when things are off.

Everything else is doing very well, growth and color wise. I mostly have LPS, but have a few other SPS such as birdsnest, GARF bonsai, meteor shower cyphastrea, and even a single lonely acro.

I'm thinking simple stress from switch in water chemistry (no shipping, only live a hour from store) plus difference in lighting caused this. I have 120w LEDs, WWC runs t5's.

What do you guys think?

I have since moved it towards the back and bottom of the tank to recover. Any other tips?

Test your water chemistry. I realize everything else is doing well but that does not guarantee your levels are satisfactory.

I would have moved it down as well.

ya i don't test my parameters often but alk and calc i have my LFS test for me every so often(before a water change) to make sure my levels are still good and consistent. i have 2x 120 LEDS only and my montis thrive, probably quickest growing corals in my tank( i have 3) my montis are all at least half way up in the tank, if not 3/4 a way up. and they are in medium flows..but thats just happens to work for me i'm not sure of their exact requirements

And sunset with 120w led in a 30g and just bought a pink passion acro and is already showing growth so check params and u will be surprised something might be outta wack

Thanks.

I had originally placed it 2/3 towards the top of the tank and centered under the lights. Thing is, I only have the lights set to blues 40% (8hrs), whites/other 30% (4hrs) so I don't really think the light is overwhelming. Maybe the switch from t5 to LED?

I'll test params tonight after work and see if anything is way off.
