hey all,

Any ideas on these spots that recently appeared on my Monti Cap? Sitting 6” below water level with T5/AI Prime.

Salinity 1.026
Temp 78-80 depending on time of day
PH 7.8
Ammonia 0
Alk 8.5
Calcium 430
Mag 1440
Nitrate 5
Nitrite 0
Phos .08

I tried lightly scrubbing with a tooth brush with no luck. The Red Monti Cap next to it seems fine along with everything else in my tank.

I’ve had it about 2 weeks now. When I got it, it had no color. After about a day or two in my tank it’s color came in nice. Then the brown spots appeared.

It is really hard to tell with tis picture.

Ya that’s what I think now too. All of SPS all fading away as of lately. Either my phosphate or light is still to high. LPS, softies and polyps are thriving. SPS not so much.

Mihht be too much led light too soon? What lighting was it under when you bought it? How old is your tank? Younger tanks under 1 year can have changes keeping sps, especailly with most tanks being started up with dead dry rock. I would lower it down a bit in the tank, make sure it gets good flow and just give it time. Keeping cal, alk, mag, sg and temp stable is key to happy corals.

The blue Monti I started the post was under 3 radions. Now under ai prime and 4 t5. Prime is turned down 50% maybe less.. parameters are above. Except since I started this thread I raised my Alk slowly to 10 to get that PH up...
