Monti Cap vs Digitata

I have a Monti Cap growing extremely well. Perhaps too well as he is now within a half to three quarters of an inch from a Monti Digitata. Will they play nice since they are both Monti's or will one be an aggressor? The Monti Cap is plating very nicely but I was surprised at how quickly he is growing over the rock.

IME, plating montipora will slowly force back the digitata.

I have both but not on contact. I would expect the cap to be the aggressor. I have 4 monti caps and they will grow over almost anything including each other.

I'm going to plan to prune back the Monti Cap since the Digitata is still mainly a stick but is showing good progress towards encrusting a base.
