I noticed this white spot was growing larger...it had mucusy purplish stuff around the rim until I blew it off with baster.

My tank is nearing a year old...and just recently moved the tank a few days ago...The piece was handled quite a bit. It has been a very fast grower.

If it continues to get bigger my plan is to frag healthy pieces and start over again with it

As long as it is stable it should heal right up. However, if the spot continues growing after a few days, super glue or fragging might be necessary. I pulled a rock covered in coral a few weeks ago to clean and my purple polyp cap had similar flesh loss when I banged it into the side of the tank - however the area was a littler smaller. It grew for 2 days then stopped and started healing back over within a couple weeks.

good plan. just check It really well to make sure you do not have a nudi in there.
I had moved some corals around and one fell on a piece and I thought it was from that but a few days later as it grew I saw the nudi...
no idea how it got in my system at the time

wow this coral looks so different now..went thru a partial tank crash due to some kind of bacteria in the sump, bleached this monti out, almost killed my whole tank, but the color is starting to come back.

sometime detritus cover it and shaded the light so that spot bleach out. Just keep an eye on it and blow the detritus away.
