Hey yall
I am still new to reefing and one of my first purchases were two mexican red leg hermits from petco. This was before I knew this was not the best vendor for livestock. Anyway I keep noticing one of the hermits sitting on my montipora. I have 3 kinds including setosa, digitata, and capricornis.
The first day I noticed him sitting on the middle of a disc shaped cap. The next day he had climbed to the top of the setosa. Today he was on the encrusted base of the digi. Is it possible that he is damaging or harming my montis? I have not seen him on any of my acros or birdsnest or lps and softies. Anyone heard of monti eating hermits? Should I remove him?
Thanks,
Cham

Those guys are safe ive had em before and the blue legs killed them and took their shells. lol!!!! Their probably just exploring their new home.

hermits are opportunistic scavengers meaning they are always looking for food and have no problem stealing it from a coral
