Monti help

Got a few corals shipped a week ago and the heat pack never activated during shipment and a couple corals died and now i have a flaming monti with a couple of damaged/ dead tips and now have some brown algae growing on them. suggestions welcome on if I should do anything

You could just use a razor blade or perhaps some sharp scissors and cut the dead tips off. Assuming conditions are right they should grow back in no time.

would you suggest a dip of some sort after trimming?

You could, but it's not really necessary. Like mentioned above as long your parameters are within reason and the lighting is sufficient the coral should be fine. GL.
