Montipora corals looking bleak......started biopellets 8 weeks ago

All my montipora are looking pale some are bleaching ......
60 gal rimless with 30 gal sump. Reef octopus xp 2000

Took the brs carbon offline

Params

Alk 9.5

Ph 8.1

Mag 1400

Calcium 450

Phos .08

Nitrates 3 ppm

I hear montipora are very sensitive to potassium drops? I have been supplementing

Or is there something I'm missing?

I could not keep Montipora when I ran pellets.

Do u know the reason? Is there something with the pellets that interferes? I know I can't keep my potassium up.....

Make sure its not nudibranchs. they can wipe out a whole tank of monti's . look very close at the bottom and base of your montis, the nudis will be very small or can be. and if that's the problem you gotta dip them and quarantine them.
It happened to a friend of mine. Good luck.

I looked first thought. But another friend said low potassium can affect montis I tested and am super low. Below 320 as I keep dosing and it's seems as tho it won't come up. It was also suggested that the bacteria also consume potassium. Wanted to confirm all if this possibly here.

No it's random decline in all areas in my caps

For the most part isolated to montis that sees to correlate with the beginning in biopellets a few weeks earlier......potassium is and has been low 320s and hard to raise. Heard of a correlation between biopellets and decline in montis..... Idk

Monti love dirtier water, droping nutrients too fast from carbon dosing will hurt them.

I was dosing redsea no3 po4 carbon and they did fine? Should I stop the pellets the ?

You might want to stop the pellets an see if there is any difference, worth a try anyway especially since that's when you started noticing problems and with montis changing anything to fast can have negative affects. They seem to be one of the more sensitive corals. oh and you might be too high or low of something else to get that potassium level right, make sure all your other parameters are in balance.
