Montipora Eating Nudibranch Battles.

Well, battling Monti Eating nudibranch atm. Pulled 11 pieces of monti from my display, have been dipping regularly every couple days, replaced plugs, been brushing them with a soft tooth brush and washing. They seem to be doing well in QT atm.

That being said, there was some encrusting monti still left on the rocks, not a lot. It has now been eaten to the skeleton. Do I need to chisel the skeleton off the rocks? Or now that the flesh is gone and its only skeleton, will the nudi begIn to starve and die within the next 3 month?

Yes. I believe you need to be montipora free long enough for any eggs that hatch to die of starvation. If anyone knows that gestation period, I would take their advice and add an extra 30 days to be safe. I had them in a tank years ago and it's nothing I want to go through a 2nd time. This is a really good question to ask. Be safe and nudi-free!

The QT tank won't be broken down, if all the monti needs to stay there until next year, I have no problem with that!
