Well, you can see from the title, I was wondering why my montis were not doing so good I think I found the problem tonight... what are the first steps I should take? Never had an experience with any pest, how to treat (I know it's hard) is it worth it for about £150 worth of montipora frags? Tear down the tank start again? Gutted

And I know it's my fault....

These are a bummer. Remove each by hand if you can. Siphoning may work. Most important. . Look for eggs ! Montipora Eating Nudibranchs are asexual, and can lay about 100 eggs at a time with the eggs hatching in 36 to 96 hours. Once the eggs have hatched, they become full adults in less than a week making them difficult to eliminate.
It's best to treat and destroy on a QT tank. You'll have to dip it in Coral Rx (my preference). While the coral is in CoralRx take a turkey baster, and blast the coral with the dip. Make sure it is getting in between the plates and in all the cracks of the coral. Do this for approximately 8 – 10 minutes.
Remove coral and discard the coralrx dip. Do not reuse the coral dip as the dead ones may release toxins. Rinse coral with clean saltwater and return to a quarantine tank. Repeat this method for 4-8 days till no more nudibranchs are found.

Thanks for the reply,

Does RX actually work, and that quick? I've seen people saying I took them several months to get rid of these. Thing is this monti has been struggling for a good month or so, a I can see 7-8 bigger ones on this one so I reckon I already have 100's. What I'm thinking of doing is getting rid of this coral completely at least I'll get rid of quite few and removing all other montis out of the DT to QT and closely monitor them, remove the plugs and dip every few days? Maybe add a wrasse in the QT to help?

Wrasse likely won’t eat the nudibranch but its hit and miss in this hobby. I ment4-8 days but of course you want to assess the situation and continue treatment if deemed necessary

The natural way

Thanks guys, so today I had time to properly look into this and check all the montis, found another one that is bad and that's the red plate others are ok for now at least. I think that I originally brought them in the tank with this monti you can clearly see the eggs and quite few adults on here
