Does anyone have a general idea on how long it takes before montipora begin to show signs of growth? I've had mine for a little over a month and there is no noticeable growth. All of my para are well within range and I'm using LED's. The LFS I bought them at were also using LED's. Just curious...thanks in advance.

What kind of LEDs and how long has the tank been set up? Do you have a lot of stony corals? What's the alk, calcium and mag at?

I had mine for 3 months before I noticed growth.
But once it started it exploded!

Take a pic now and give it some time
Go back and look at that pic and ull see it is growing

Same here..once they get comfortable they usually go nuts..most of the time its a month or two IME

The tank has been set up for about 5 months and i'm just starting with coral (within the last 1- 1 1/2 months)

What type of monti? I have a digi that didn't have any growth for the longest time but then started to take off. My undata fell on a lobo and I lost half of it but it regrew and encrusted fast. My green cap hasn't done much of anything. It just encrusted enough to not get nocked off then stopped for some reason. In retrospect I've seen peoples tank where they have to beat back there caps just so they don't take over.

I would agree. Give it a month or two to settle in. Once they get comfy they really can take over quickly.

Great idea to take a picture and compare it in a few weeks to a couple of months. I am often surprised by how much growth I actually do get out of my corals. I just don't notice it until I look back at some older pictures because I look at the tank everyday and it is not that noticeable on a day to day basis.

Keep your water parameters stable! Test test test and you will notice it will start to grow! Coral=patience! I've had my tank set up for almost two years now with frags that were purchased at 3/4inch about a year and a half ago and they are just starting to branch out some corals take longer then others but parameters, water changes, flow, and patience is what counts.
