I bought two montipora 2 weeks ago. I put them middle level on my live rock. I have noticed over the last couple days that they are both losing color or turning white. I moved my green montipora down one into the sand and the Jedi montipora just down lower on my rock. I'm fairy new to reefing. I have had my tank for 13 years but fish only. I started adding soft corals over the last 6 months. All soft corals are doing good. So I decided to try montipora. Anyway can anyone help me with these montipora? Will they get their color back? Did I do the wrong thing placing up high after purchased?
Little help.....
Thanks

What is your Alkalinity? I have had the same problem in the past when my ALK was higher than I typically like.
As an example, if you typically run an ALK of 9.5, but switched salt brands with a higher ALK in the mix, you can have a spike that can cause bleaching. Same can be true if your ALK is lower.
There is always the possibility that your LFS has an ALK significantly different from yours, again causing bleaching

Could also be due to them getting hit with too much light, now that you moved them lower give them some time and see if they recover
